Linden's 11th Trip Report

February 13th  -  It rained on and off all day as we got ready to leave New Orleans for our drive to the Silver Slipper Casino in Bay Saint Lewis, Mississippi.  Had a great half price buffet ($6.00 each) and received a free nights camping at the Silver Slipper Beachfront RV Park.  We all, either broke even or won a little.
We are still traveling with Ed and Sandy Miller and are headed to Florida with them.
February 14th  -  Woke up to a cool and overcast morning.  The RV park is right on the Gulf and we are parked right on the beach.  Hence the parks name.
February 17th  -  Time to move again.  We spent a few days at the Boomtown Casino in Biloxi, MS,.  After three free buffet lunches, including crab legs, we continued on to Summerdale, AL and the Escapee RV Park.  Sandy and I stuffed ourselves with crab meat.  I can't remember ever having crab legs as full of firm meat as these.  They were great and very tasty.
Bill and Jeanne Nixon, friends from Rochester, NY, are staying at the Escapee park in Smmerdale.  John and Sandra Wihlan, from Pittsford, NY are also staying in the Summerdale, AL. area.  We spent the evening at an ice cream social before sitting around visiting.
February 18th  -  Ed and Sandy spent the night in the Escapee  over flow camping area.  Today they moved in to a full hook up site.
The four of us met John and Sandy in Foley, AL., for lunch at the "Gift Horse" restaurant.  The Gift Horse is an excellent restaurant and is well known in the area.
February 22nd  -  We started for Millers house in Inverness, Florida.  We stopped at the Passport America office in Clearview, Florida, and visited with the owner, Ryan. We continued in a rain that lasted all day.  We stopped overnight in Perry, Florida.
February 23rd  -  We continued on to Inverness where we will be staying for a few days.
February 25th  -  Beryl and I went to Dade City, Florida with the Millers for a luncheon with Newmar friends from New York.  We met Jim and Nancy Anten, John and Carol Schiltz, Martha and Harry Byrd, Bob and Barb Engel and Jack and Marge Flood.
After lunch the Lindens, Millers, Antens, Engels and Schiltz then went to Parkdale Farms in Plant City for our fix of fresh strawberry shortcake.  It was great.
February 26h  -  The Millers went to Leesburg, Florida, with us to visit Tom and Sharon Roule, friends from Livonia, New York.

I will add that Walt and Beryl blew in on 30 mile/hour Texas winds and 60 degree temperatures. We've had one day with 70+ plus temps and winds less than 20 mph since they got in the area.
Good to seen them !!!!!
