A number of times in the past few years during rallies in Cambria, we ate at Gordie Harper's Bazaar. Was looking at this year --- it's "FOR SALE". $1.3 Million.
We may have to find an alternative.

As I write this, it's raining again!
Patty Pritchard's father tried to mow the lawn where we might stay and his lawn mower left tracks. Think what 35,000 pound motor home might do.
SO, REGRETTABLY, WE ARE GOING TO CANCEL THE AUGUST RALLY
Those of you who know me, know I believe in the FMCA Mission: GET FOLKS OF SIMILAR INTERESTS TOGETHER AND HAVE FUN.
I am sorry, but COVID, Fred and Henri have different ideas.
See you in Cambria
Watching New England Weather - It looks like Henri will come up the Connecticut River and stall over central Vermont.
Those who remember meteorology, know winds circulate counter-clockwise around a storm. That means water gets sucked off the Atlantic and dumped inland. How far - I don't know.
However, it could impact us next week end.
Patty and Brian will make any decisions or changes.
Stay tuned and stay safe.
We are planning our August rally in Hannibul, NY. It’s dry camping (=free camp fee!), and lets you exercise your generator. It only costs $25 for the whole weekend. It’s in Patty Pritchard’s parents yard. Details are on the tab above.
Address:
544 State Route 176
Hannibal, NY 13074
Property is for sale with:
FREEDOM REAL ESTATE in Hanibal if you want to view it.
However, It has some challenges. As we post this, it has rained for 4 days and Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next week don't look good. Patty says the sites are very wet.
Our deadline is August 23rd. However, if weather prevents the fields a place to park our RV, we may have to cancel.
Keep checking here as we will post updates.
Welcome new members:
· Richard and Carolyn Rank
· Lenny and Janice Scarano
· Returning members: Craig and Sharon Sylvester
Our hosts, Rich and Charlotte Burrell, Jim and Sherry Miller, Brian and Patty Pritchard put on a great weekend. We had gifts from the hosts, a fish fry, varied breakfasts and a chicken/pulled pork BBQ.
Can you imagine a turtle waiting for a light at a cross walk?
A new "turtle crossing" in Jefferson County will protect turtles from the threat of cars. Working in coordination with the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation, the Jefferson County Highway Department installed the first turtle crossing to help Blanding's turtles, a threatened species of turtle, travel between Chaumont Bay and Lake Ontario and safely avoid oncoming vehicles.
Only in New York (or California) 😊🙋

RE: FMCA
Governing Board Meeting Gillette, WY
July 7, 2021
Here are some highlights of relevant points that chapter members will be interested in knowing:
●
2020 year was the first year in the last
7 years that FMCA’s income was in the BLACK ! ($7,309 surplus. Although this may sound low, FMCA is a
not-for-profit organization and this amount aligns with how a not-for-profit
should look at the end of the year).
●
The 2022 budget was built upon a $50
yearly membership fee for renewing members. This budget was approved with a
quorum of 73% in attendance. $50 per year membership fee. Excellent!
●
The following list of FMCA international
rallys are already under contract:
*Winter 2022 - Tucson, AZ March 23-26
*Summer 2022 - Lincoln, NE August 24-27
*Winter 2023 - Perry,
GA March 15-18
*Summer 2023 - Gillette,
WY August 23-26
*Winter 2025 - Perry, GA
March 12-15
*Summer 2025- Gillette,
WY July 16-19
*Summer 2027 - Gillette,
WY July 14-17
●
Pending successful negotiations and events in
2022:
* Winter 2024 - Tucson , AZ TBA
*
Summer 2024 - Lincoln, NE
●
There were noticeable numbers of towables
attending with children at Gillette!
●
Chubb will remain our FMCAssist program
provider.
●
FMCA’s Strategic Plan has not been
updated since 2001. The Strategic Plan
serves as the road map for the well-being of the organization. It will be a
priority for the Executive Board to work on the development of such a plan.
●
We need to continue to recruit new
members. There remains a concern that about 80% of FMCA members are not
represented at the Governing Board meetings.
●
Our new members of FMCA’s Executive
Governing Board are:
*National President
- Rett Porter
* National Sr. Vice P.-
Gary Milner
*National Secretary -
Kathie Balogh
*National Treasurer - Barbara Smith
These are the highlights of the meeting. If you have any questions about the governing board meeting, text/call me at 716-499-4263 or drop me an email at RoslinNewton@gmail.com
