Happy Veteran's Day

November 11 originally marked the surrender of Germany at the end of World War 1. It was called Armistice Day when I was a kid and our family celebrated my father's birthday.

In 1954, it was changed to honor all veterans. A real reminder occurred this past weekend when I met an Imo Jima Survivor. This year was the 70th anniversary of Marines storming that island. Almost 10% of them died and one in four was wounded. All but 216 of the 19000 Japanese soldiers died.

2015 also marks the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II.

I'm proud to be part of that fraternity, and was fortunate not to be in combat.

To all of you veterans, there are many ways to celebrate your service.

Winter Snowbirds Florida Get Together

As we have done for many years, we try to get together for lunch in Florida. It used to be to plan for the Southeast Area Rally. As fewer folks went to the rally, we just had the luncheon. This year, we don't have SEAR, but hopefully, that won't stop us.

So, we have arranged for lunch at the Golden Corral in Clermont, FL. The particulars are:

Possible Rally Location
